Intumescent dampers are lint catches and really shouldn't be used for laundries or bathrooms. If they are then at least service annually and vacuum off the lint build-up.
Note that any breach or deformity in the foil wrap of the intumescent material necessitates damper replacement.
Lint build-up can allow a firepath through the damper
